This is the earliest known picture of the team that got it all started. In 2007, several Webster Groves girls from Bristol Elementary School registered for YMCA soccer and they were coached by Jason and Craig. The girls called themselves the "Fireballs" because of their shimmering orange YMCA jerseys. It was clear from the beginning that they were no ordinary group of girls just out to kick the ball around in a swarm on the field. They competed and they just looked like soccer players!

We looked at many clubs in St. Louis, but quickly realized that the cost was outrageous for an 8 year old. We called SLYSA to see what we need to start our own small club with a single U8 girls team. We were told it would be extremely difficult and that we didn't know what we were doing. We were told we needed to pay a coach to come in and train the girls properly or we wouldn't win.

We didn't care if we won or if our girls would be the next Mia Hamm. Our goal was simple: create a club where our girls would learn how to play soccer while keeping it light and fun. The rest, as they say, is history.
